Walking through the door of the Alizarin Crimson Gallery
and meeting Georgia Abood marked the first steps of my creative journey. Watching the artists as
they worked I remarked how much I would love to be able to paint as they did. “You put forth the effort and I’ll
teach you the skills you need to get started,” said Georgia. I watched as she moved from student to student, easel to
easel, focusing on every imaginable genre of the art world. She moved from modern, to abstract, to impressionistic,
and realism, sharing, teaching, and advising to the specifics. She traveled with remarkable flexibility about the gallery
and among the students. All levels of expertise listening as she taught and demonstrated the skills that would push and motivate
them to take their work to the next level.
Never imposing her own style
on a student she encourages as they deve lop their individual style and approach. Her own experience and helpful advice is
valued among all that sit under her watchful and creative eye
Georgia’s efforts and desire to remain fresh
in her own work serve as inspiration to all.
Georgia always finds time for
each student and never lets them leave with a painting they are not proud of. I am grateful every day that
I happened on Alizarin Crimson and most importantly Georgia Abood.
